Sports Leaders 2023
Due to a number of our candidates being away with extra curricular activities today, we will announce the leaders who were voted in to be Sports Leaders on Monday at school and will then communicate this to our community in next week's newsletter.
Kindergarten 2023 Transition
It was wonderful to once again have the children who will be our Kinder 2023 group visit school on Wednesday and spend time getting to know the school, classrooms and teachers. They finished their visit with buying a treat from the canteen and taking home a special bag of school goodies, put together by the Parent Assembly Team from the Catholic Schools Office. We were very proud of the way they handled their transitions and look forward to seeing them start their school journey next year.
Christmas Hamper Out of Uniform Day
Thank you for your wonderful contributions to our Christmas Hampers. Our students enjoyed a fun day of dressing up in Christmas attire, but also remembered the theme of service to others through giving. Thank you for sending in your hamper items if you haven’t already done so.
K-2 Intensive Swimming Program
If you would like to observe your child’s progress through the program, it is advised that the best days to watch would be on the 1st, 5th and 10th day. Spectator’s admission will be charged upon entry.
Children will need to come to school wearing their new regular or sport school uniform (including sport shoes and hat). They will need to bring in a bag each day their swimmers, goggles, a rash shirt, towel and thongs. Please ensure every item is labelled with their name and the bag with their swimming gear is suitable to take their wet things back home each day.
The class timetable each day will be:
Year 1 start 12:00pm finish 12:40am
Year 2 start 12:40pm finish 1:20pm
Kindergarten start 1:20pm finish 2:00pm
Yours in Sport
David Lynch
Sports Co-ordinator
In this week’s Peer Support session the children explored how they can join groups and how to accept others into their friendship group. The activities gave the children a chance to practise these skills, as well as how to say no in a respectful way, cope with being told no and inviting others to join them.
Encourage your child to discuss with you the importance of saying no to people in a respectful way so that they don’t lose friends. Also discuss with your child various options they have at school if they should find themselves without anyone to play with during break time.
We congratulate our Year 6 leaders for their wonderful work in preparing for Peer Support each week.
Congratulations to our Year 5 Entrepreneurs! They showcased their products and services on Wednesday morning to an overwhelming amount of parents and community members. If you missed out, you are invited to come along at 2:15pm next Monday 28th November in the MPA.

Getting to school by bus in 2023
Will your child be catching the bus to school in 2023? Applications are now open for a Bus Travel Pass. As it’s a busy time of year, we highly recommend you make this application before the end of Term 4. It’s also good to check the bus timetable to make your child’s journey to school as easy as possible.
Here is how it works:
Bus passes
All students catching the bus in 2023 will need a school travel pass.
Under the School Student Transport Scheme, eligible students can apply for free or subsided travel between home and school.
For more information about the School Student Transport Scheme and how to apply for a school travel pass, visit https://apps.transport.nsw.
Bus timetables
Busways is the school bus operator that runs your schools’ bus services. To find your child’s school bus timetable visit the Busways website by using the following steps:
1. Go to busways.com.au/nsw
2. Click on ‘school services’ in the navigation bar and then proceed to ‘school timetables’
3. Enter the school’s name in the field that says ‘enter a school name’
4. Select the school’s name and the timetable should open on your device.
If you are unable to find or search for the school’s name, use the drop-down menus on the same web page to find the school.
5. Once the timetable is opened, you will be able to identify which school bus services are available in your area for your child to use.
