Compass Roll Out Update
As the move to our new Communication Platform and Parent App Compass draws near we wish to communicate one of the key features of the application. The Event module in Compass is quite powerful and a seamless way for you to give consent and pay for Events. An Event is classed as an excursion, camp, sporting activity and anything where your child leaves the grounds of the school. As a parent you have the ability to see any medical information regarding your child every time an event is published. You will also be asked to review any “action” plan that has been provided by you to us for a medical condition that your child may have.
The “Action Plan” is the Plan of Action that will be followed by those attending the event if your child has a medical episode relating to their medical condition. That is - an Asthma Plan, Anaphylaxis Plan or other medical emergency plan.
As a parent you can provide updated Medical Conditions within the Event Module which will trigger an email to be sent to the school to review and update the medical conditions. If the Action Plan that is attached to the event is not the current and most recent Action Plan for your child please email the school the most recent and updated plan so that your child's medical information is correct.
Throughout the onboarding process we will be sharing a list of documents (Pdf's) "How to's...." on how to get the most out of your Compass Application. Your unique username and password will be emailed to your registered email address with the school on Monday 10th July. A help form will be available for you to request assistance.
P&F Minutes and Discussion
This week a group of our parents got together to discuss the new model of our Parents and Friends community group and the Tell Them From Me Survey Results. We truly value the commitment and conversation from our parent community. The minutes from this meeting and Tell Them From Me Survey Results will be available in our Week 1 Term 3 newsletter.
We will be meeting as a parent community early in Term 3 - look out for the dates soon.
First Holy Communion
Along with the Sacrament of Baptism, First Holy Communion is one of our three sacraments of initiation. It is through these sacraments of initiation that we become full members of the Church. We receive the Holy Eucharist for the first time during the First Holy Communion. The Holy Eucharist refers to Christ’s body, blood, soul and divinity that are truly present in the consecrated host and wine (now called the Body and Blood of Christ) on the altar. For us as Catholics, there is nothing greater than to receive Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist at Mass.
Our Year 4 and 5 Candidates celebrated their ceremonies at St Agnes' Church - it was wonderful to see so many of our community there to support them.
Year 6 Camp
The time has finally come for our enthusiastic Year 6 learners to embark on a memorable adventure—the eagerly awaited trip to The Great Aussie Bush Camp!
Scheduled to take place from Tuesday to Friday next week (Week 10), the camp promises an array of thrilling activities, unforgettable moments, and valuable life lessons. The campsite, nestled amidst the picturesque countryside, offers an ideal setting for students to immerse themselves in nature's wonders and develop a sense of adventure.
Have a great time Year 6!
Welcome to the Joey's Family
Next term, Primary students who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be engaging in learning to explore the Christian call to be saints – to holiness – which all of us receive at our Baptism. Students will identify, in their experience, people who demonstrate holiness in love and service of others. The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of Christian initiation. It completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, candidates are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
The preparation time for each sacrament marks another significant step in your child’s formation in the Catholic faith and continues to be a very important period in your family’s life too, with Jesus Christ and his Church.
Students who are preparing to complete the Sacrament of Confirmation will need to be registered by Wednesday 5th July. A note with further information was emailed to parents of Sacrament candidates this week.
Dates for your calendars and parent reminders are:
Workshop 1 - Tuesday 18th July at 3:30pm - St Peter’s Primary School
Workshop 2 - Thursday 20th July at 5:30pm - St Joseph’s Primary School
Workshop 3 - Tuesday 25th July at 3:30pm - St Agnes' Primary School
Workshop 4 - Wednesday 26th July at 5:30pm - St Agnes' Catholic Church
E-safety is an ongoing topic of interest amongst our parent community. Please find below the e-safety commissioner site to support parents in navigating those tricky conversations with our kids around internet safety and social media. Let’s keep our kids safe and happy.

Year 4 First Holy Communion Reflection Afternoon
Year 4 celebrated their First Holy Communion Reflection day with all of our Year 4 and 5 candidates, here at school on Tuesday 13th June. They deepened their understanding of this important Sacrament by learning about the parts of the Mass and special items and elements of our church. The afternoon concluded with a group prayer service including our wonderful parents and a celebratory ice block.
Sarah McKinnon and Bianca Jamison
Year 4 Teachers
Last week, as part of our History unit, Year 2 opened their own Mini-Museum bringing in historical artefacts from home to share. What a wonderful way to learn about the past from each other.
