That's a Wrap
Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of Christian initiation.
Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
We are reminded of our participation in the ministry and mission of Jesus, and strengthened to follow Jesus more closely.
Year 3 supported their peers in the learning of Pentecost, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit during Monday’s Reflection Morning.

Attendance Matters
SAVE THE DATE! Father's Day Breakfast, Prayer Assembly and Colour Run
Our Father’s Day Breakfast, Prayer Assembly and Colour Run is fast approaching. The focus of the organising committee is participation and fun, to celebrate our dads and lads. It would be wonderful if everyone could join us and be a part of this great community event.
Save the date, 'Friday 1st September' and keep an eye out over the coming weeks on your Compass platform for more information and ordering details.
We always appreciate volunteers to help make our events a success. If you have any time available in the next few weeks to help bag colour or are available on the day please let us know by filling in the online form via this link or by scanning the QR code in the flyer - https://forms.gle/e9uFhkAmcVPaMNgu7
Photography Guidelines for Parents and Carers
We recognise that parents and carers enjoy photographing and recording the progress of their child at school and on school activities. We recognise that many of you like to share these personal memories online and on social media. We ask for your cooperation and care concerning the use and distribution of photographs of other children at our school. Some families have very real legal and safety issues which could put a child at risk if an image is made public online. More generally, it is respectful of the privacy of other members of the school community to ask permission before posting an image online. Even if your social media settings are private, it is easy for images to become public, particularly if they are tagged or shared by others. Please see the school website under “Policies and Forms” for the Photography Guidelines for parents and carers, mandatory policies and further resources.
When we run activities and hold events here at school that families are invited to, we often take photos to share with our community through the school newsletter and our social media platforms. Please note that for adults attending public events there is assumed permission for their image to be able to be published on our platforms.
For many children, gaming is not a problem and may never be one. But for a very small number of children, gaming may become problematic. The distinction between healthy gaming and addiction lies in the negative impact it has on a person's life.
Signs to Watch For
- Needing to spend more and more time playing to satisfy the urge.
- Using gaming to relieve or cope with problems or negative feelings.
- Feeling unable to focus on other activities when they’re not gaming.
- Having problems or arguments with family or friends.
- Continuing to play even though it’s causing them problems.
- Playing even though they’re no longer enjoying it.
- Inability to reduce playing or unsuccessful attempts to quit.
- Having problems at home, school, work or with study because of gaming.
- Neglecting responsibilities and activities that are important or they enjoy.
- Lying to people they’re close to about how much time they spend playing.
- Having risked or lost friends because of gaming.
- Feeling sad, angry, moody, anxious or irritable when they can’t play.
Practical Tips
- Create a Family device agreement.
- Explain that you will turn off the Wi-Fi at a specific time or use parent controls to manage screen time.
- Decide together on the time allowed for gaming and that you will provide them with a 5-minute warning.
- Help them to understand how the games are designed to make them feel good and to play more. Watch this short video on Your Child's Brain on Screens and Video Games to understand game design and impact.
- Explore other healthy ways to feel similar endorphins such as active play and fun games.
- Contact Parentline (1300 1300 52) for advice if you continue to experience difficulties with your child’s gaming.
