Welcome Fr Alejo
Fr Alejo joins us from the Philippines and came to Australia in August last year accepting a position as a Priest in our Diocese. He celebrated a beautiful Mass with us on Sunday night with Joey’s hosting music and hospitality. He also joined Kindergarten this week for Pray and Play.
Please pray for Fr Alejo as he settles into St Agnes’ Parish life and extend to him our welcoming support and encouragement.
Tinnies for Vinnies and PJ Day
Mini Vinnies are asking families to donate tinned food in Weeks 9 and 10 this term. They will be collected in each of the classrooms. Maybe you could even add your own homemade stickers of happiness to the tin labels promoting wellbeing or joy.
On Tuesday of Week 10 (2nd July) we will also be hosting a pyjama day. Students are invited to come to school in their PJ's with a gold coin donation (please remember they will still need to wear suitable shoes for play time).
Our collected tins will be donated to 'Our Place' - A special place where vulnerable people can go to seek support and supplies, at the Youth Hub of St Agnes' Parish. Our money raised on PJ Day will go to Sr Marg’s Soup Kitchen.
Welcome to the Joey's Family...
This week, St Agnes' Education and the Creative Arts Nest team hosted a vibrant celebration of art at MacKillop College, uniting students, teachers and sponsors, in a festival of creativity, colour, connection and collaboration. It truly was the night of nights for our very exciting event of the year!
A heartfelt congratulations to all our participants, finalists, and the highly commended recipients. Your talent and hard work have truly shone through. To our winners—what an incredible achievement! You have inspired us all with your creativity and passion.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Here's to another year of connection, creativity and belonging.

Hometime Arrangements and Messages - How am I getting home?
To alleviate any stress or worry for your child we encourage you to discuss your child’s travel arrangements with them each day (particularly if it changes).
If there is a change to your child's home time travel arrangements please let your child know before they leave the house or write a note to your child's teacher. Some parents also write a "H" (home lines) or a "B" (bus lines) on their child's hand. Home Time Routine Bag Tags may also be helpful in managing travel arrangements (please speak to the Office Aunties if you are interested in purchasing some).
We understand that plans may change during the day and ask that you phone the Office Aunties on 6583 3848 between the hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm if this is the case. This enables us to ensure that your child gets the message in a timely manner. Please DO NOT email the school or message your child's teacher directly as it may not be seen in the timeframe you require.
If an emergency occurs or there is a late change to your child's home time plan we will do everything we can to get the message to your child after 2:30pm. Please be aware that a school bell sounds at 3:00pm for classes to prepare to leave the class for hometime at 3:10pm which makes it difficult to guarantee that a message will get to your child.
Thank you for your support in making sure everyone gets home safely.
Parent Community Group (PCG) meeting and agenda
Our PCG at Joey's is open to all parents. It supports the mission of our Catholic school, strengthens family school partnerships and parent connections. It is welcoming and inclusive and provides good communication to the whole parent community about the parent body initiatives.
We welcome you to join us!
Our next PCG meeting is Wednesday 31st July from 5:00pm to 6:00pm here at Joey's. A copy of our last meetings Ageda and Meeting Notes can be viewed by clicking here.
Attending School Regularly Helps Children
Good attendance in primary school will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school
Good attendance in primary school is a fundamental building block for academic success and overall wellbeing, and it sets the stage for success in high school and beyond. Primary school is the foundational stage of a child's education. Regular attendance ensures that children build a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and skills that serve as the basis for more advanced learning in high school.
By recognising the long-term benefits and reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance in primary years, students are better equipped to succeed in high school and beyond. Attending school regularly instils a sense of responsibility and work ethic in students and participating actively in class are essential components of success.
Year 5 prepare for 'Elements' at the Glasshouse
This term has been huge for Creative and Performing Arts in Year 5.
We have been practising our choral reading skills with Ms Gilchrist to support our dramatic reading of an excerpt from The Hobbit. We have also begun dance rehearsals and have been creating clay and charcoal artworks to be presented in our showcase.
We can’t wait to share the final products with you!
We are incredibly proud to announce that St Joseph's Primary School competed in the prestigious 3rd Annual eSports Tournament at MacKillop College, representing our school in the Hastings region with tremendous enthusiasm and skill.
Our talented representatives, who were selected through an intense lunchtime knockout tournament, showcased their prowess in two exciting games: Mario Kart and Just Dance.
Mario Kart - 2nd Place! Just Dance - 2nd Place!
A huge congratulations to all our students for their fantastic effort and exceptional sportsmanship.
The Kanga Cup, scheduled from 7th to 12th July in Canberra, stands as the largest Junior Football (soccer) competition in the Southern Hemisphere. Historically, it has attracted teams from across the globe, including the USA, Japan, and England.
Seven students from St Joseph's Primary School will proudly represent their clubs from the Football Mid North Coast region at this esteemed tournament. This presents a remarkable opportunity and promises to be an unforgettable experience for these children.

We are incredibly proud of Bronte's achievements and wish her all the best in her future sporting endeavours. Keep up the fantastic work, Bronte!
