Wishes for the end of 2020
Thank you to all of our parents, carers and families for your support of St Joseph’s in one of the most challenging and unusual years that we have experienced. While there were lots of challenges, there have also been some wonderful successes which have given us much to learn about. We wish you the most wonderful Christmas together and hope that over the holidays there is some time to spend together. May God bless you all, and the Nativity be a reminder of how much you are loved and cared for.

Goodbyes and Thank yous for Staff
I would like to acknowledge staff who will be leaving or changing their work with us for 2021.
We say goodbye and thank you to Josie and Aunty Sue, who have been working at St Joseph’s for an extended period of time as Education Assistants. Their wonderful contributions to our school have been appreciated and valued, and we will miss them being with us each day. We wish these amazing ladies all the best as they enjoy spending time with family and friends. We hope they will pop in to visit us often. They were recognised for their service in our assembly today.
We also thank Alison Young and Catherine McKelvie who worked part time on our teaching teams this year. We greatly appreciate their commitment and work with us, and they will continue as casual teachers next year, so we will only be saying “see you later” and thank you to these two special ladies.

Swimming Carnival
Our Primary Swimming Carnival is planned to take place on Thursday 4th February (Week 2 Term 1) at the Wauchope Memorial Olympic Pool. Please encourage your children to practice their swimming all summer holidays and, early next year, you will be given the option to enter your child in competitive events or non-competitive events. Only the competitive events will be timed and these students will have a chance to make it into the Zone Swimming Carnival. This carnival will include all students who are aged Under 8’s to Under 13’s. Happy swimming!
Gymnastics
The Term 1 Dance Fever Multisport Gymnastic program for Kinder - Year 6 will run on Thursdays for 7 weeks from Week 3 to Week 9. It is an exciting and essential area of our Sport program.
The structured Gymnastic program develops the progressive learning of skills in children of all abilities. Students will learn locomotor and non locomotor skills along with a variety of elements of movement which are aligned with the NSW PDHPE Syllabus.
We are grateful to have accepted a Sporting Schools grant which will subsidise this program, making the cost for each child $23.70 for the term. This amount has been billed to your student account and can be paid via eftpos, BPay or cash. Please make payment by Friday 12th March 2020 to enable us to meet our costs with our providers, Dance Fever Multisport.
