The Principal's Report
Hi everyone,
Our students have been very busy this week with a number of great things happening, no doubt looking forward to a weekend to rest.It has been another big week of great learning and lots to share. Here are some of the things that are happening in our school.
Life Education Van
The buzz at the front gate on Tuesday morning this week was all about the big van in the reserve next to the culdesac end of Warlters St! Healthy Harold has arrived at St Joseph’s and will be very busy with the educator Leanne teaching each class all about healthy and safe life skills. It would be great for parents and carers to talk with their children about the messages they hear during these visits so that they have a chance to share what they have learned.
Jeannine Ucdereli AP Appraisal
Part of school leaders’ ongoing professional development, are appraisals, where they can reflect on their current practices and set goals forward. Jeannine Ucdereli, our Acting Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning is participating in her scheduled AP Appraisal on Tuesday 10th November. A letter was sent home this week regarding an invitation to parents and carers to be involved. Thank you to those who made contact in support of this process, we appreciate this.
NOTOSH
The Project Nest work of NOTOSH from 2019 with input from our community have re-engaged with our Parish to assist us in moving forward with projects that will lead our school forward. They will be leading us through a process by which we can choose needs of the schools in our Parish and develop projects that will assist us to grow and change. A small staff team will begin work this week and more communication will be forthcoming for our community early in 2021.
Transition to school - Kindergarten 2021
We are so very excited to be welcoming our new Kindergarten friends for 2021 to school next week for a visit. This year the guidelines have limited the time we can spend with them at school, but it will be wonderful to see them for even a short time and share some other resources with them and their families to build the sense of belonging during this big wait for Big School!
