The Principal's Report
Staff Development Days 2021
We published our Staff Development Days (Pupil Free) to our website and newsletter at the start of the year, to ensure we give families advance notice. We need to advise a change to one of these days in Term 2, highlighted in bold below. This is also adjusted in our forward planning calendar. On the days that child minding is available for families requiring support, please ensure you follow the link in the note that you receive ahead of time, so that we are able to ensure adequate staffing.
Here is a recap:
Thursday 1st April - Staff First Aid and CPR Training (limited child minding available).
Monday 19th April will now be a regular school day - all students are expected to attend as normal.
Wednesday 5th May - Proclaim Staff Event (limited child minding available).
Tuesday 22nd June will now be a Staff Development Day - Digital Technologies (child minding available).
Shaving and Cutting Hair for Cancer Research
Students at St Joseph’s have a great reputation for doing good in our local community in a variety of ways. One of our students, Maddyx Gray (5S), is participating in an event this weekend with some friends, to shave or cut hair for Cancer research. It is always inspiring to see young people contributing to causes that show selflessness and generosity, engaging in acts of service for others. In support of Maddyx’s involvement in this event, the following notice is an invitation from the organisers to be involved. This is not an event run by our school, so this is a sharing from those who are running it. We will acknowledge Maddyx’s generous contribution next week at our prayer assembly. There are many causes out there to support, and all of them worthwhile. There is a link below if anyone feels this is a cause they would like to contribute to and a link to the event if you want to go along and support Maddyx and his friends. https://tourdecure.grassrootz.com/bald-beautiful-2021

COVID-19 School Update Note
Early this week you will have received an emailed updated note around COVID-19 Guidelines for schools. While this is good news, as it is allowing some things previously not on the agenda to return, please note that in planning, there will be some alterations to how these have occurred in the past.
