Celebrating Our Faith

Nathan.jfif

Sacrament of Penance

The Sacrament of Penance will commence this term for Year 4, 5 and 6 candidates on 25th May, 26th May, 2nd June and 3rd June. This information was sent to registered families, including the process for nominating your preferred date. Please follow this up if you wish to avoid missing out on a particular date. We continue to pray for these children’s journey towards this important and peaceful step in their faith journey.

Catholic Education Week

200_years_catholic_education.png

The theme for Catholic Education Week this year is ‘Faith in the Future’. Next week, we celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia during Catholic Education Week. To help celebrate, we are turning back the clock to experience school 200 years ago with the theme of ‘Yesteryear’. Students are invited to dress up in plain clothes or colonial fashion on Friday 30th April. Staff may look a little ancient (more than usual) and students will get to join in some games and activities from bygone years. We will celebrate with a prayer service to offer our appreciation for what Catholic Education has brought to our country and the many people it has helped to educate throughout our history.

Here is a song written for Catholic Education Week. Students from our famous Faith Choir have been busy learning to sing this beautiful song.

Saint Joseph

We are very lucky to have two feast days celebrating our Patron, Saint Joseph the Worker, which falls on Saturday 1st May. Our school will have a focus on Saint Joseph on Monday 3rd May.

Proclaim - Staff Faith Formation

Staff from all over the Lismore Diocese will gather for a day dedicated to our faith as Catholic Educators on Wednesday 5th May. This is a pupil free day. There will be limited child-minding on this day. If you require child minding, please contact the office before Friday 30th April.

Mother's Day

We will host a prayer service to celebrate Mother’s Day on Friday 7th May. We are excited to be able to have our mothers present during this prayer. Details regarding this will follow.

ANZAC Day

Our school commemorated ANZAC Day today with a service and prayer for all souls who sacrificed their lives, families and friends to protect our country.

We wish Jack Cremins well as our student representative who will be laying down the wreath during the Port Macquarie ANZAC Day service on Sunday.

As the ANZAC Day march and service is different this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage families to hold their own service. Please take a photo and share with us if you do.
