As the new year starts, our students who received tuition and were in our concert band in 2021 have started back with their tutors. We look forward to being able to give them an opportunity to showcase their skills soon in front of our students. We hope that in the not too distant future, parents and carers will also be able to come back to school and be their audience. We will continue to communicate this as time goes on.

In collaboration with the showcase of the current students, in the coming week or two we are planning for the band tutors to be able to demonstrate instruments to students in Years 3-6 so that they can be aware of what can be possible if they wish to consider signing up in 2022. Students in Years 4-6 are able to sign up from the start of 2022, but we don’t begin with Year 3 students until later in the year when they are more ready for the commitment it requires. Tutors will demonstrate to students and then have available notes to come home for parents and carers to complete if they are interested. 

We will be clear with students that it is the parent and carers’ decision with their child if they are able to commence music tuition and band, as this may not be something families can afford or want to add to the activities your child already does. You may like to have a conversation with your child prior to the demonstration to ensure they understand this from your point of view. If you do not want your child to receive a note, please let their class teacher know.
