Leader's Message
It is with an overwhelming sense of pride that I share with you our week. As you know, we welcomed Laurelle Allen, Kurt Challinor and Troy Baker who made up the School Review Panel. It was such a pleasant experience welcoming them to our school and showcasing the wonderful things we all do to make Joey’s the welcoming school it is. The panel appreciated the opportunity to talk with leadership, staff, students and families. They were very impressed with the commitment shown across our school, highlighting the dedication to ensuring we create a safe and supportive environment which nurtures our community in faith, wellbeing and academic excellence.
As a result of over 100 conversations the panel will construct a report that summarises their conversations, providing us with some commendations, affirmations and recommendations. This information will assist us in building a 3 year Strategic Plan with a 2023 Annual Plan evolving. This planning will begin on 23rd September, our upcoming Staff Development Day.
In the coming weeks we will share the commendations, affirmations and recommendations, which have been reviewed by the Australian Council of Educational Research (who produced the tool that was used to conduct the school review).
The panel who attended St Joseph’s for the 3 days gave a very positive verbal summary of their detailed documentation.
I take this opportunity to thank the School Review Panel for their conversations, observations and considerations through the course of this week.
Celebrating Our Faith
ALL WELCOME - St Agnes' Parish - Come and share a cuppa and cake
This Sunday 28th August, we are celebrating the Feast of St Agnes' (it is also Social Justice Sunday). While we celebrate Mass on its actual day of 21st January, this day always falls during the Christmas school holidays. The last Sunday in August is chosen so that this special day can be acknowledged and celebrated by the wider Parish. The Prayers and Readings will be from the Feast Day, not those from the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time. After the 9:00am Mass, there will be a cuppa (and cake)! We welcome our community members to St Agnes' Church, as always, this Sunday.
Grandparents Day - Save the Date
Calling all Grandparents and Grandfriends. Save the date for Friday 28th October at St Joseph’s Primary for some fun and love with your grandchildren. Details to follow. We can’t wait to see you!
Sacrament of Confirmation
We are so excited to be hosting Workshop 3 at St Joseph’s next Wednesday 31st August at 3:30pm.
The last remaining workshop is as follows;
Workshop 4 - Thursday 1st September at 6:00pm - St Peter’s Primary School.
We continue to pray for our candidates as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
