Leader's Message
School Spirit
Witnessing our school spirit once again this week was a very humbling and proud experience. It was a privilege to be a part of our amazing Glasshouse performances on Thursday. The joy, excitement and nervous energy being shared behind the stage was humbling. Watching and listening to all the students prepare themselves and how our older students nurtured our younger students was a true reflection of our strong community spirit.
I would like to take a moment to thank Mrs Jackson for the enormous amount of planning, organisation, dedication, patience and true grit in ensuring we were all prepared and calm right from the very beginning of rehearsals until the final house curtain closed last night. I would also like to acknowledge the flexibility of the Glasshouse staff who assisted us in presenting such a polished concert. To our staff who spent hours choreographing dances and coordinating costumes, thank you.
A very big congratulations must go to the stars of the show, the children of St Joseph’s - you were amazing and we are all very proud of you.
Billy - Year 6
“It was fun and it was a good experience that helped everyone overcome their fears.”
Liam - Year 5
“It was awesome getting the chance to show your skills because it took a lot of work behind the scenes before we were ready”
Olivia - Year 4
“It was really fun and it was a big space for us to practise and it had lots of seats for our parents to watch us”
Indii - Year 3
“I liked how everyone encouraged people. I was really nervous and my friends and teacher really helped me, so when I got on stage it was a really good feeling.”
Niah - Year 2
“It was an amazing and fun experience to dance in and getting to see the audience was unbelievable. Everyone was smiling and having a good time.”
Spencer - Year 1
My favourite part was when I first got on stage, I was thinking about my Mum and Dad watching me and clapping. I was a bit nervous, my costume was a fish and I loved it.”
Lucas - Kindergarten
“It was really fun. I really liked dancing and going on the bus”
Here is a small snapshot of our experience. We will share more photos with you in the coming weeks.

Our concert was professionally recorded. If you wish to purchase a copy of the DVD please send $20.00 in to the school office in an envelope clearly marked with your students name, quantity and ‘Glasshouse DVD’ on it by Wednesday 14th September.
THINKING OF OUR COMMUNITY
Our sympathy goes out to Edward Kelly-Wortman and family for the recent loss of his Grandmother.
Educational Assistants
Appreciation Week
This week we held a very special morning tea for our amazing Educational Assistants. We are blessed to have such dedicated and supportive Assistants who are always available to help our students and staff. They support our students learning in the classroom, build their confidence and resilience, attend to medical needs and possess unique skills and talents that we appreciate every day.
Year 5 Teaching Team
As you would be aware we have been very fortunate to have Bianca Jamison join our Year 5 team as she completes her final teaching practicum. With Elisa Pringle finishing her time with us today, Bianca has been employed to remain with the Year 5 teaching team for the remainder of this year. This means that Bianca will teach five days a week with Samuel Taylor for the final two weeks of Term 3 and remain with the team into Term 4.
I know you will join me in continuing to welcome Bianca to the Year 5 teaching team and thanking Elisa for her contributions over the past eight weeks.
Evacuation Drills
As part of our Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities we have been practising our emergency drills just in case we are ever faced with a real emergency during the school day. The staff and students have listened to our new sirens and the instruction messages which follow. We have practised a lockdown and fire drill, with another drill scheduled for next week, requiring us to evacuate to a different location on site. Next term we will practise a whole school evacuation which will require us to move off site. We will provide more information about this in the coming weeks.
