Primary Swimming Carnival
Our annual Primary Swimming Carnival will be held next Tuesday 14th February at Wauchope Memorial Olympic Pool.
We would love for spectators to come and watch our athletes perform. Please remember there is a spectator fee of $1.80 payable on the day at the pool and an allocated area for spectators. To assist us in maintaining a safe environment for our students we ask that spectators stay in the allocated area. Students are not allowed to go to that area at any time throughout the day. A timetable of events can be viewed in the link below. Please note that times are a guide only.
In the event of extreme bad weather, where Competitive swimming is still considered safe, only the students who have been nominated as ‘Competitive’ swimmers will go to the pool on the day. This will be communicated to our school community as early as possible on the day via SMS and our school facebook page.
Student Spotlight
Ruby Holmes and Keilah Long recently competed in the Little Athletics Regional Carnival in Tamworth. By all accounts both girls were absolute standouts on the day, which included competing against other athletes from Ballina to Gloucester. Keilah finished 2nd in the 100m and 200m races, and 1st in both the 400m race and the relay race. Ruby was also a part of the winning relay team, and finished 1st in the 100m hurdles.
Zoe and Harry Lawrence competed at the Taree Speedo Sprints Swimming Competition this past weekend. Zoe won the 50m and 100m breaststroke races and came first overall for the 50m breaststroke. Harry won the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. We can’t wait to see these two legends at the carnival!
Polding Basketball
Today three of our amazing Year 6 student athletes were in Lismore competing for a spot in the Polding basketball team. We wish Liam Jones, Hudson Alexander and Xavier Mat the best of luck.
