Final Week at Joey's 2023
Wishes for the end of 2023
As we come to our last newsletter for 2023, we bring you the end of year celebrations (particularly for our graduating Year 6 students) and set our sights on preparing for 2024. It has been a very big year of activities and learning, so we acknowledge the great opportunities that have been given to our students to experience life to the full. We thank all who have contributed to these successes and opportunities, from our staff, Parent Community Group (PCG), all members of our school community and beyond.
We wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and New Year as we pray for you to be safe and to enjoy the hope and joy that comes from celebrating the coming of Jesus in our lives and hearts.
Thank you from Mr Baker
I would like to take this final opportunity of 2023 to thank all of you in our school community for your support, kindness and friendship during my first year as Principal here at St Joseph’s. It has been a fantastic year with a great number of successes. The spirit of St Joseph has been alive in our school, as one who persisted through his life to always act with courage, compassion and humility. This is, after all “the Joey’s way” and epitomises the type of school that we aspire to be each day.
I am really grateful for the staff of St Joseph’s, who go above and beyond to ensure students are cared for, valued and respected. They are experts in their craft, and we are all very blessed to have such a wonderful group of dedicated teachers. My hope is that they have a restful break and return in 2024 ready for another exciting year of learning.
Finally, I thank the children, as without them, we wouldn’t be a school! I have loved getting to know them, to share in their joys, to help them in their difficulties and to have the privilege to impact on the people they have become.
May God bless you all and keep you in His care.
Year 6 Graduation
It is with much sadness, yet pride, that we say farewell to the Year 6 Class of 2023. A wonderful cohort of students with varying gifts and talents. We wish them well in their future endeavours. Please don’t forget to come back and say hello.
We farewelled our Year 6’s on Tuesday with the Mass for Graduation followed by a wonderful Graduation dinner and awards ceremony.
