Port Macquarie Speech and Drama Eisteddfod 2024
The Eisteddfod is over for another year. To say I am so proud of our students is an understatement! Their skills, talent and dedication are a credit to them, their families and their school. It was with a sense of pride that I saw our students genuinely congratulate others and be so happy for their success.
Our students performed so well and their results were very rewarding. Three of our students entered the Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 Championships. This required them to perform in three sections: Dramatic Characterisation, Championship Poem and Humorous Poem. Mikayla won first place, Arlo second and Sophie won the prestigious Versatility Award!
In the Year 3 and 4 Championship, Ashton won 2nd place and Arianna 4th.
Many other students performed with skill and talent in poems, readings, dramatic characterisation, Verse for Multiple Voices etc.
First places were won by: Mikayla, Isabella, Oliver, Emerence, Arlo, Ashton, Zoe, Sophie and Dylan.
Second places were won by Ashton, Arianna, Lily, Charlize, Elise, Sophie, Mikayla, Ellie, and Ava.
Third places were won by Byron, Oscar, Jack, Sophie , Maggie, Mikayla and Lily
These clever students were awarded 4th: Ashton, Kainoa, Sophie, Arlo, Maggie, Arianna and Jack.
Highly Commended awards were given to Leo, Anika, Sianna, Isobel, Millie, Alivia, Emilia, Juliet, Scarlett, Lily, Maggie, Dylan, Mikayla, Olivia and Arianna
An encouragement award was won by Ellie.
I’m so proud of all our students and commend them for their skill, technique, talent and tenacity. Most of all I was so impressed with their manners, generosity of spirit and joy when congratulating others.
