Helpful Information for Parents

attendance_matters.png
  • ALL Late arrivals MUST be signed in by a parent or carer at the school office.  Parents can then be sure that their children have arrived safely to school. Parents/carers not signing late children in at the office will be contacted.

  • If your child is away, it is important that you reply to the absence SMS sent on the day of absence -  When responding please click on the link in the text message and give a clear and precise explanation for your child's absence.

  • For family holidays longer than 10 consective and/or cumulative days during school time, all parents/carers must complete an Extended Leave Notification Form 01 (located on our website under "Our School" tab, in Policies ) and provide a copy of the itinerary.

Medication Information

For students who need to take regular medication at school, parents are required to provide the medication in a school webster pack as per our current Medication Guidelines and Procedure. A completed Authority for Medication Administration – Parent Form is also required. Any changes, including discontinuation or dosage adjustments, must be communicated via email to sjpport@lism.catholic.edu.au. If dosage changes are not covered by the original form, an updated letter from the child's Doctor is also required.

The Medication Administered - Parent Form link can also be found in Compass under School Documentation / Parent Resources / School Forms should you need to provide another form in the future.

If you have any questions please contact the Office Aunties.

Contact Details

It is important to update your information on the COMPASS APP or with the school office. This includes any new phone numbers, address and emergency contacts if they have changed for your child.

Student Medical Appointments and Early Departure

We strongly encourage parents to organise medical appointments outside of school hours but are conscious that this is not always possible.  For your convenience if you have to make a medical appointment for your child during school time please be aware of our breaks for your planning as there will be a delay in getting your child to the office if they are out at lunch play.

Hometime messages

Hometime_Messages.png

If there is a change to your child's hometime travel arrangements please let your child know before they leave the house or write a note to your child's teacher. Some parents also write a "H" (homelines) or a "B" (buslines) on their child's hand.  We understand that plans may change during the day and ask that you phone the office Aunties on 6583 3848 between the hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm. This enables us to ensure that your child gets the message in a timely manner.  Please do NOT email the school or message your child's teacher directly as it may not be seen in the timeframe you require.

If an emergency occurs or there is a late change to your child's home time plan we will do everything we can to get the message to your child after 2:30pm. Please be aware that a warning school bell sounds at 3:00pm for classes to prepare to leave the class for hometime at 3:10pm which makes it difficult to guarantee that a message will get to your child.
