Principal's Message
Catholic Schools Week 2025
That's a wrap for Catholic Schools Week and what a wonderful week we've had celebrating at St Joseph’s Primary. The week was filled with faith, community spirit, and joy! At Joey’s we are so proud of our wonderful school community.
We kicked things off with a Wellbeing Through Music Concert, bringing smiles and a sense of fun to our school community through the power of music by ARIA award winner CJ Shaw.
Our students were treated to a special visit from the DLCS Jubilee Boat, an exciting and unique experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. During our Catholic Schools Week liturgy we made promises to be Pilgrims of Hope in our Jubilee year and sent them in the Jubilee boat as a symbol of our commitment to making our world a better place.
With hearts full of compassion, we held a Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal Fundraiser, rallying together to support those in need during the colder months.
Our Year 3 students led a beautiful Pray and Play session, combining reflection and play in a way that showcased their growing faith and sense of community.
We truly love our school and are proud of the values we live out each day.

NAIDOC Week
On Friday of Week 9 we kicked off our opening NAIDOC celebration with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, performed by Uncle Bill O’Brien and accompanied by Josh Wright.
This week our students came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025 through a variety of meaningful activities that explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture while focusing on this year's theme; The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy.
The week included fun games like ‘tug of war’ and ‘over under’, promoting the themes Strength and Legacy. Students completed an information hunt that not only helped deepen their understanding of Indigenous history, but also encompassed the theme of vision. They also enjoyed reading Dreaming stories with their buddies, fostering storytelling and cultural appreciation. Learning about bush tucker introduced students to traditional Indigenous foods, while they also got to taste some lemon myrtle muffins. Creative expression was encouraged through painting coasters. These coasters were provided by the beautiful team at Many Rivers. Additionally, students participated in Gathang language learning, helping to preserve and promote the local Birpai language. The week was a vibrant celebration of culture, learning, and community spirit.
