Kim Goldie:
I am very excited to be the new Canteen Co-ordinator at St Joseph’s. I am a busy mum to four boys, all in St Agnes’ Parish schools, so I am very familiar with the values of our Parish and schools. I love spending time hanging out with my family and really enjoy baking from scratch and providing healthy meals for my family. I look forward to providing healthy food for your children too. It is great to see that you already have the Healthy Schools strategy in place. I look forward to working with the whole school community to ensure we keep serving good quality food to the children and staff. I welcome your feedback and am open to suggestions for anything you might like to see going forward in 2020. Next week I will send out a survey and a sign up form for new volunteers. Parents, carers and grandparents are most welcome to come and help and I look forward to working with you all. I will be in the canteen during the MAI interviews in January 2020, so please stop by and say hello, I look forward to meeting you and your children soon.

THANK YOU AND SEE YOU LATER (NOT GOODBYE)
We will thank and farewell staff who will be leaving us for 2020 on Monday 16th December at a special assembly. Every member of our staff have been part of our Joey’s family and have made individual and collaborative contributions to our school. We wish them well on their next adventures (some just for now).
- Mrs Ann Thurgate - Ann joined us as Assistant Principal Mission in 2019, in a temporary role. Ann enriched our faith life and community through 2019 and we will miss her. She will return to her previous role with the Catholic Schools Office in 2020.
- Mrs Shannon Kelly - Shannon has been part of our school for 10 years. She is following a passion for sustainability and outdoor learning by taking on a temporary position with The Nature School in Port Macquarie for 2020. We know she will love this role and we will learn from her new experiences.
- Mrs Jemma Wilkins - Jemma joined us this year in a part-time capacity on Year 1. We have enjoyed getting to know Jemma and wish her well as she moves to a permanent position at The Nature School in Port Macquarie in 2020.
- Mrs Rhianna Hancock - Rhianna has worked at St Joseph’s for several years. She has enjoyed working with students and families at Joey’s and we wish her well as she moves to a position at St Joseph’s Wauchope in 2020.
- Mrs Anna Hill - Anna has worked at St Joseph’s for 6 years. Her bright and cheery personality, love of learning and care for her students will be missed. She is taking a position at St Aloysius in Chisholm for 2020.
- Mrs Nicola Jackson - Nicola will be taking a break from teaching in 2020 to excitedly welcome a new baby to the family and spend time with her daughter Lorelai. We look forward to hearing the happy news in Term 1 2020 and meeting the new baby.
- Mr Brent Nichols - Brent took on part time roles with us during the year and will continue to work with us in casual roles during 2020. We thank him for his time spent with us.
- Tarran Marr-Harris - Tarran shared the Indigenous Education Worker role with Caleb Smith this year. Tarran is starting his University study in 2020, so will be focussing on his new learning. He has promised to visit and share his love of Indigenous language and culture when he can.
- Mrs Annemaree Tonkin - Annemaree has been our Canteen Coordinator for more years than she would tell me, long enough to be truly part of the life of the school. Annemaree has decided it’s time to hang up the tools and enjoy a much earned retirement. We appreciate the years of service and care she has given to Joey’s. We wish her a happy and enjoyable retirement.
REPORTS HOME
Student Reports were sent home today with your child. This is a time to celebrate the learning and growth that has taken place for your child this semester. In particular, the effort column shows how your child has worked to give their best. If you would like to discuss your child’s report, please make an appointment with your child’s teacher.
MATHS ASSESSMENT INTERVIEW (MAI) BOOKING
All students in Years 1-6 2020 are required to complete a MAI prior to commencing classes for 2020. Bookings for our limited child minding on these days need to be made using the second booking code. Bookings for both events will close Wednesday 18th December.
