The Principal's Report
Thank you all for your support in returning to face to face learning at school during this week. It is hard to believe that there are only 3 weeks to go in this term. We continue to pray for those who are vulnerable in our school and wider community and for the safety and health of all we care for and are in contact with.
This week my video message is around a research project from the Catholic Schools Office. We are seeking feedback from parents, students and staff around the experience of Blended Learning with a few questions. Focus groups of students will give us feedback at school and we are emailing a group of parents on a random basis to complete the survey. If you do not receive an email invitation but would like to contribute to the gathering of information, please contact the school so we can share the link with you.
Please read the items below to keep up to date on current information.
Supporting Families:
- Please remember that if you have any concerns and are in need of support, let us know so we are able to assist you and your family.
Attendance at school:
- As attendance is now compulsory face to face, please complete attendance messaging if your child is sick or otherwise absent from school.
Winter Uniforms:
- Thank you for ensuring your children are in their correct winter uniforms. Please see our Learning Together article for further details about the importance of wearing the correct school uniform on the prescribed days.
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - winter uniform
- Thursday and Friday - sport uniform
Social Distancing:
- As restrictions change in the wider community, our practices remain the same, with the prediction that they will remain until the end of Term 2.
Drop Off and Pick Up:
- Our practices remain as they have been for the past number of weeks. Thank you for your assistance in the drop off and pick up procedures.
Handy tip: staggering of pick up is available via our Warlters Street process - duty for pick up is from 3:10-3:30pm, so a wise choice to avoid lengthy lining up would be to come during the later part of this timeframe.
Illness:
- Children must remain at home if they have any cold or flu symptoms. If they present unwell at school they will be sent home. This also applies to staff members.
- If any family member is being tested for COVID-19, the school needs to be informed and all students from the family are not to attend school until the results are returned as negative.
Kindergarten 2021 Enrolment Interviews:
- The majority of Kinder enrolment interviews have been completed over the past two weeks. With a week to go, any current Joey’s families seeking Kinder enrolment for 2021 need to have applications submitted within the next week for an interview. Our other Parish schools are also enrolling now, so if you know of anyone who is considering Catholic education for their children, encourage them to complete enrolments during June to avoid disappointment.
